Itinerary

View Trip India-Nepal in a larger map

The only thing which was planned before we left was a hotel room in Delhi, a trek for me in Nepal and a return flight from Kathmandu, Nepal. In between, it would be a lot of improvisation and surprises. Well, we have more or less an idea of the places we want to go but not how and when.
Our trip starts by a tour of Rajasthan, a big region in the North-West of India with more people than in France, a lot of sacred temples, palaces, fortresses, camels, Maharajas and a big desert. After that, we may go more North, where the Himalayas start and then to Varanasi, another very sacred and special place in India. Varanasi should be our last destination in India before to enter Nepal. We will spend about two weeks of sightseeing and trekking before Berit flies back to Norway on the 27th of march. From that date, I will continue the trip alone. I will start with a big trek in the Khumbu (the Everest region). After that, nothing is very clear yet but I'm tempted by a visit to Tibet which is so closed (but which seems very complicated) or in a restricted area of Nepal.
